Actually “Italia” (Italy) derives from “vitalia”, “land of grape vine”.
“The boot” is the nickname given in modern epoch about its geographical shape.
Sicilia (Sicily, Italy) region old name was “Trinacria” (“triangle-shaped land”), and is the only geographical-shape name given to a Mediterranean area.

In the old days Trinidad was referred to as the Land of the Hummingbird.
Nowadays our country is called The Land of the Steelpan.
Trinidad is one of two main islands comprising of the country Trinidad & Tobago.
We no longer have an abundance of hummingbirds but some people have aided in the hummingbirds comeback.
The steelpan is claimed to be the only new acoustic musical instrument invented in the 20th century.
