Fairy Meadows was named by an Austrian Climber Hermann Buhl in 1953. Fairy Meadows is also called Pari Mahal (Fairy Palaces).
Fairy Meadows, the heart of Northern Areas of Pakistan, is a green plateau from where you can see a breathtaking view of an amazing mountain…a killer of a mountain called Nanga Parbat. This heaven is located at the base of Nanga Parbat that is the most dangerous mountains in the world of mountain climbing. Indeed it is ironic that a mountain so dangerous can overlook a plateau so strikingly beautiful.
Fairy Meadows is about 3300 m high from the sea level and its located at the western edge of Himalayan Range. It can be reached after an 18 hour adventurous and breathtaking journey by car/jeep. You will not grow weary of the amazing and majestic views of the Karakorum Highway. If you love hiking and trekking on the lower slopes, Fairy Meadows and its surroundings are the ideal place for you.
