What about Mukesh Ambani of India. As of March 2012 his Net worth is $22.3 Billion.
@Asim, Mukesh Ambani is currently on #19 in the list.
The name of the article is TotTen !! Seen as number 10 has over 25 billion he won’t be on the list ! Retard
what about mital
@Patrick, Mr. Lakshmi Mittal is on #21 in the list with 20.7 billion.
Wut about omg its O? Opera Win free?
No doubt, there must be so many billionaires out there that cannot make their fortune public based on the way they got rich. For example, the african leaders who are known to convert their nations’ funds into theirs. Then of course, the drug dealers?
Any way, this is more one sample of absurdities of our social systems. One got rich because is the owner of bandwidth of electric-magnetic waves (Carlos Slim-communications) that runs through our atmosphere and even our own bodies! This waves never could be sold, it is public domain! Other gets rich sitting under air-conditioning playing casinos in Wall Street ( Buffet). Stocks must belongs to who works in the company! Other gets rich taking the minerals under soul that belongs to the people of a nation (Batista)! The unique real moral source of health here is Bill gates, who works as a real good social human being. donating half to a foundation. Everything wrong here!
1. Carlos Slim did not and does not own the airwaves. He leases them from Mexico. He owns the cellular towers. He provides 200,000 jobs.
2. Stocks should not belong to those who work in the company, but to the investors who buy them. Without this system, startups could never happen, because without money from investors, there would be no capital base to start a company, and pay those employees. Warren Buffet currently lives in a 5 bedroom stucco house in Omaha Nebraska, which he purchased in 1957 for $31,500. He has pledged to donate $30.7 billion to the Gates Foundation, the largest charitable donation in history, and has stated that almost all of his wealth will be given to charity.
3. I don’t know that much about Batista, so I am not in a position to talk about him. I do however know that the Brazilian Government is not known for it’s untarnished corruption record, so I suspect that if Batista does donate his fortune to charity, a lot more of it will probably end up in the hands of the common people of Brazil than if the iron resources were federally mined.
4. Bill Gates is a good guy, and there’s nothing wrong with him, but I think it’s unfair to say that he’s the only guy on the list who is “a real good social human being”.
I would like to have newsletter having knowledge base.
Enlightening information but sadly deficient. You are allowing that there are no people/families worth a trillion dollars in the world?
This is absolutely impossible! To many successful people over the years surely accumulated this large of a fortune.
Perhaps the Dexter family who stock was the first to ever be traded on the NYSE. The evil Dick Chaney was once reported to be worth trillion or more. The Chase family who helped finance the civil war in 1864 was worth many many millions and now has one the worlds largest banks. Lord Baron Rothschild was worth 300 million in in 1820! I am sure there are many more candidates!
Richard this is the top 10 richest known people currently.. Don’t confuse the issue.
So please tell me how comes no one ever mentions the Rothschild family and the extent of their wealth. They have influence and are involved in so much yet their wealth is never disclosed. …..why ?
Rich means to many eating the food of the poor
To others it means mystery pure, the road there is simply too abstract
To some it is a dream
To me it is a man that does not eat more than I
That invents and defend and develop
That is human and kills few
That is closer to production than a politician
That lives about as long as the others
And is sometimes selling drugs
But seldom
Modern technology needs capitalism
Modern man needs human dimensions too
It is the old story
small needs the big
big needs the small
Big can be terribly brutal
Small can be terribly weak
Look at nature
it has it all
Is it bad?
It certainly is terrible and unique.

Gates only lost out by $7 billion and he has given over $30 billion away already. If he had not done that he would still be #1 by a very large margin.
Both Gates and Buffett plan on giving pretty much all of their money away which is not something you see a lot of anymore (if ever).
What about Ingvar Kamprad, the founder of Ikea? He has a fortune of $36 billions
In History – King Solomon. Solomon seems to have gotten 240 + 400 = 640 talents of gold in gifts, or 48000 pounds of gold, that today would be worth 849,207,202$.
He also receives 666 talents of gold in income every year * 40 years of being king
= 35, 348, 252, 727 $
Rockefeller made 1 billion dollars, which would now be worth 318 billion dollars.
Carnegie made 400 million which today would be worth about 186 billion dollars.
